Melanocortin Peptides
Our melanocortin peptides range includes PT-141 (bremelanotide) and Melanotan II, two cyclic analogues of alpha-MSH. Researchers use them to study the MC1, MC3 and MC4 receptors that control pigmentation, appetite and arousal.
How melanocortin peptides differ
Melanotan II activates several melanocortin receptors, including MC1R, which drives skin pigmentation. PT-141 is a metabolite of Melanotan II, yet it acts mainly on MC3R and MC4R with far less effect on pigment. Because of this, comparing the two helps labs separate pigmentation effects from central nervous system effects. In addition, PT-141 has clinical data from its FDA approval as Vyleesi.
Choosing melanocortin peptides for your study
Choose Melanotan II for melanogenesis and broad receptor work. Choose PT-141 for arousal and motivation pathways. For vascular comparisons, see our erectile performance research range.
FAQ
Are these peptides TGA-approved?
No. The TGA has warned against personal use of Melanotan, so we sell both for research only.
How are they stored?
Refrigerate vials and reconstitute with bacteriostatic water.
Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes. We dispatch from Australian stock to every state and territory, which avoids international customs delays.
Not sure which compound fits your protocol? Our team can help by chat or email. In addition, every product page lists full specifications, storage notes and links to related research compounds.
Every order ships from Australian stock, and weekday orders placed before 12pm AEDT leave the same day. Batches are third-party tested, with reports available through our Lab Tests page.
All products are sold for laboratory research use only and are not for human consumption.
